Bajura to the Big Stage: Raniban’s Football Dream

Raniban Sports Club, hailing from the remote district of Bajura in Nepal overcomes all difficulties to earn a spot in the C- division league. This achievement was a tribute to the raw talent developed in the foothills of the Himalayas and the club’s continuous dedication. However, their journey to the national stage was full of challenges, highlighting the disparities in Nepali football.

Dhurba Bahadur Rokaya, a club official speaks openly about the extreme pressure and difficulties the team faced. The transition from local tournaments to the highly competitive C-division league was not easy at all. Lack of resources, infrastructure and support increased their challenges. 

 The club’s journey to Kathmandu was difficult one. The players, officials had to make great financial and personal sacrifices because they were from an area with little option. The lack of sponsorship and government support made their problem much worse. The team’s dedication to overcome these obstacles is truly inspiring.

Unfortunately, Raniban SC’s C- division campaign ended in disappointment. But their story has not come to an end yet. The determination and enthusiasm of the team and players provide hope for the upcoming football players in rural Nepal.
